Senior Women’s Rep Program and Coaching Announcement

AFL South Coast is pleased to announce the appointment of Geoff Gibbs and Ben Hyndes as Co-Coaches of the inaugural AFL South Coast Women’s Representative team for 2019.

Geoff is the current coach of the reigning Women’s Premiers Bomaderry while Ben is the Illawarra Academy of Sport Youth Girls coach and both bring with them a wealth of experience and in particular female football.

This will be the first ever Senior Women’s representative side for AFL South Coast, who like the Men’s team, will do battle with AFL Hunter Central Coast in Newcastle on Saturday 18^th May.

The selection panel will be in contact with Women’s Club coaches over the coming weeks to discuss suitable players and request nominations with a squad of 30-40 players to be announced by Monday, 29 April (first training session expected to be around 6:30pm on Wednesday, 1 May in the Illawarra at a venue to be confirmed).

It is expected that all players selected in the extended squad attend all training sessions (four) and make themselves available for this historic representative fixture.

Training details including dates, locations and times will be confirmed shortly (likely to be Wednesday 1^st, Wednesday 8^th, Sunday 12^th and Thursday 16^th May).

The final team will be announced on Monday 13, May.
