Tim Martin appointed Community Football Manager – South Coast
We are very excited to announce that after an extensive recruitment process, Tim Martin has been appointed to the newly created Community Football Manager – South Coast position.
As part of this newly created role, Tim will lead the strategic direction of the AFL South Coast and AFL Sapphire Coast competitions, provide club development and support, increase the commercial and partnership opportunities for clubs and leagues and oversee the Football Operations teams.
Tim brings a great mix of corporate experience, consulting and more recently substantial involvement in football at the grassroots level in the region which will no doubt assist greatly in the evolution of this new role.
Tim understands the challenges of the code within the region having spent three years as a Club President (Kiama Power Junior AFC) but also as a member of the AFL South Coast Competition Management Committee as well as Chair of the Illawarra and Shoalhaven Junior Committees. This extensive experience on ‘both sides of the fence’ in developing clubs and supporting effective competition operations, in addition to proven financial and stakeholder management skills make Tim an exceptional person to lead the regions community clubs and competitions into the future.
Tim will commence in the role this coming Monday, July 29 and will look to connect with each Club over the coming month as the 2019 season begins to wind up.
Please note all football operations matters will continue to be handled by Dave Johnson (AFL South Coast) and Mitch Wallis (AFL Sapphire Coast).
