AFL South Coast Staffing Changes
Over the past 18 years of working with AFL NSW/ACT, Dave Johnson (or DJ as he’s known to most), has traversed nearly all aspects of our game, from setting up and running Game Development programs in schools and Club Auskick programs, through to his more recent role in Football Operations covering Club support, competition management, oversight of League governance, financial management and events management, to mention just a few. As DJ will attest to, the challenges in the Footy Ops world are wide and varied and no two days are ever the same. DJ has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to support and advance our game, and whilst he doesn’t seek recognition, his longstanding contribution to the development and huge growth of our code within the region is immeasurable.
We are pleased to announce that DJ has now accepted the newly created role of Media, Events and Operations Coordinator in the region, which will take effect from 1 May this year. This is a part-time role, allowing DJ to scale back his work time to pursue and enjoy some of his passions outside of the footy community he’s served for so long. He will remain an integral part of our business and we’re excited at the opportunities he’ll bring to the region in this new role.
The Football Operations Coordinator role will be advertised in the coming days. In the meantime, its business as usual and DJ will remain working full-time in Footy Ops until 1 May. He will be instrumental in supporting the transition of the successful candidate into that role.
