Community Umpire Week is here
This week marks a very special week on the Community Football Calendar Nationally as Community Umpire Week!
This is an occasion for players, coaches and football community to acknowledge the work and dedication of our local umpires. This also serves as a great opportunity to spread the good stories and opportunities available through umpiring. For the whole of next week we would love for South Coast clubs to really get behind this campaign and make it part of our Football culture here in the region.
Some Recommended Activities;
- Both teams and coaches lining up pre-game in the middle of the ground to shake the umpire’s hands
- Players wearing green arm bands
- Sharing of positive umpiring stories on your clubs Social Platforms – Please do not post about specific umpires or acknowledge any local umpires by name (unless otherwise approved by AFL Sapphire Coast)
- Encourage people to get involved in umpiring on club social media platforms
Please keep an eye on the AFL South Coast and Tyrepower NSW/ACT Umpiring social media platforms for any local content on our community umpires and lets all get around what is a fantastic week!
