What is one thing that we don’t know about this Rising Star that they are well known for around the club?  Utilising what are possibly the biggest hands on the planet Siwa has won two silver medals and a bronze at the Australian National under-age athletics championships in discus.

What role do they play for the club both on and off the field?

Off field, Siwa is a mysterious character. Although quietly spoken he is an imposing character. Very popular and admired for his work ethic and adventurous lifestyle he is a great asset to the club.

Although Siwa was not present on the night he has been etched into Bomaderry Footy Club folklore by being the funniest part of Jack Boxsell’s Tom Smith acceptance speech last year.

On the field Siwa, for an 18 year old, is as fearless as footballers come. He is one half of a very strong ruck duo with Jake Evans. His booming kick and one step run up for a set shot make him an entertainer and his ferocious tackling is always a highlight for the Bomaderry faithful.

The night before the game what will they most likely be doing?  Just chilling out, fishing or playing barbies

Do they have any pre-game superstitions?   Siwa doesn’t have any pre-game superstitions but suggests his Egyptian mother might although he was not keen to elaborate

Reason for nomination this round:   Siwa is nominated after another outstanding performance in the ruck against Figtree. Whilst Figtree proved too strong on the day, Siwa’s dominance in the ruck and ability to ruck the entire game unchanged impressed everyone at the ground.

Siwa displayed strength and agility beyond that of most men his age winning almost every tap, placing it to Bomaderry’s advantage and then if required following up with second and third efforts.

Club / Coach quote on Performance / Nomination:

“Having only turned 18 in April, Siwa is an outstanding young man and footballing prospect, not just for the Bomaderry footy club but the league and perhaps beyond. Siwa has a great passion and commitment to his football and has placed his athletics on hold to work on his game and see where footy can take him. Siwa is a pleasure to coach and we all look forward to watching his development over the next few years”.

 Nickname:  Mel

What is one thing that we don’t know about this Rising Star that they are well known for around the club?  Never, ever, ever, EVER stops talking at training

What role do they play for the club both on and off the field?  A great footy brain, enthusiasm, work ethic and all round keenness on and off the field that rubs off on those around her.

The night before the game what will they most likely be doing? Telling her mum to make sure she’s allowed to rip in as much as possible

Do they have any pre-game superstitions?  Loves to practice her tackling in the lead up to big games

Coach quote on Nomination: In her first ever game of senior football Mel didn’t take a backward step. You would never have known she was coming back after 6+ weeks off due to glandular fever. She was in everything, kicking goals, tackling, dropping into the backline and finding acres of space on the wing. Mel has got a very bright footballing future ahead of her and it’s very exciting that she’s coming through at a time when women’s football is on the rise.
