AFL South Coast Gearing up for season 2022!
AFL NSW/ACT would like to provide an update regarding our junior competitions for 2022.
Shoalhaven juniors
2022 is shaping up to be an exciting time for the Shoalhaven region. Club preparation is well underway after the unfortunate amount of rain within the region, with clubs able to return to training, and round 1 currently scheduled for April 10th.
The AFL, and Shoalhaven clubs have confirmed the following age group structure for 2022:
- Auskick
- Under 9s Mixed
- Under 11s Mixed
- Under 13s Mixed
- Under 15s Girls
- Under 15s Boys
We are all excited to see a return to Under 15s football for both male and female players within the Shoalhaven region alongside the rest of the age groups. We hope that this provides a pathway for players within the Shoalhaven to develop and grow their football. We are excited by the prospect of completing a full season and provide our clubs and players with the best possible outcome for the region.
Illawarra Juniors
The Illawarra regions has its fingers crossed that a full season will be able to be played after a tough few years. Our clubs are busy recruiting and training planning for round 1 on the 3rd April!
We are running the following age groups in 2022:
- Auskick
- Under 9s Mixed
- Under 11s Mixed
- Under 11s Girls
- Under 13s Mixed
- Under 13s Girls
- Under 15s Boys
- Under 15s Girls
- Under 17s Boys
- Under 17s Girls
With the start of the season only weeks away, we encourage everyone who is thinking about playing football to head to Play.AFL and find their nearest club!
